Description
Thyme bio or Thymus vulgaris is not only a kitchen herb but as a tea this herb also has a respiratory effect. Thyme used to be called “the antibiotic of the poor people” because of its resistance-boosting effect. Botanist Dodoens (1517 – 1585) described thyme in great detail and recommended it for coughs and “shortness of breath,” tough phlegm, bloating and wheezing.
Along with Rosemary and French Tarragon, Thyme is one of the most popular herbs in French Cuisine.
