Our Cajun Spice Mix Bio is a traditional seasoning native to Louisiana in the deep south of the US. The spicy authentic blend was formulated to enhance the flavor of the local “Holy Trinity” of celery, red peppers and onion. These three are used as a base in many Cajun recipes with additional spices found in our Cajun spice mix.

Cajun cuisine originated in the state of Louisiana in America. These French-speaking residents of Louisiana had emigrated to Canada from France. In the 17th century they were driven out by the English and, after years of wandering, ended up in southern Louisiana. They called themselves “acadiens. Later this was bastardized to “cajuns.
The style of cooking is rustic and hearty. True Cajun cooks make great use of game, vegetables, seafood, herbs and spices easily obtained from the swamps, lakes, rivers and forests in the immediate area. Classic dishes include jambalaya, stews, fricassees, soups and gumbos that are generally cooked in one pot.
