Black Mustard Seed tastes stronger and spicier than Yellow Mustard Seed. Mustard seed adds warmth and depth of flavor to many dishes and is the basis for mustard. Mustard seeds are added to stews, and in India the nutty flavor of mustard seeds is used in chutneys, curries and sauces. Mustard seeds are indispensable in pickling spices and pickling herbs.
