Preparing orange blossom tea organic
Making a tea (or infusion) is an ideal way to benefit from the beneficial effects of organic orange blossoms.
So you can easily prepare a cup of healthy orange blossom tea organic:
The tea is mild in flavor with a subtle sweetness and floral aroma.
- Use 1-2 teaspoons of dried orange blossom per cup.
- Heat the water until it almost boils (about 85°C). Ideally not 100-degree water to keep the essential oils from escaping!
- Add the dried orange blossom to your teacup/teapot.
- Pour the hot water over the blossom and steep for 5-7 minutes. For a stronger flavor, you can let the blossom steep a little longer.
- Remove the blossom and add honey or stevia, if desired.
Culinary Uses of Orange Blossom
Besides making tea, orange blossom is a versatile ingredient in cooking and can be used in a variety of ways:
- Pastries and Desserts: The fragrant flowers are often used to add a delicate flavor to desserts such as cookies, cakes, and puddings. Orange blossom water is a popular ingredient in many Middle Eastern desserts such as baklava and ma’amoul.
- Cocktails and Mocktails: Orange blossom can add a sophisticated twist to cocktails and mocktails. Add a few drops of orange blossom water to your favorite drink or use the flowers as a garnish for an extra touch of flavor.
