Hamamelis hydrolate (Hamamelis virginiana), also known as witch hazel, is a refreshing and astringent floral water with a light, earthy scent. It is known for its purifying, anti-inflammatory and toning effects, especially when caring for blemished, oily or sensitive skin.

Hydrolates are the aqueous, aromatic by-product of steam distillation. They contain the water-soluble, active ingredients of the plant and are particularly mild, thus also suitable for sensitive skin.
