Description
Gunpowder tea is one of the best-known green teas from China. The name “Gunpowder” comes from the unique shape of the tea leaves, which are tightly coiled into small, round grains during the drying process. This happens because the leaves are wetted several times during the short roasting time, which slows down the drying process and causes the leaves to coil up. This organic tea is known for its slightly spicy flavor, which becomes milder with each new infusion.
Preparation
To fully enjoy Gunpowder tea, follow these simple steps:
- Quantity: Use 4 to 5 teaspoons of Gunpowder tea per liter of water.
- Water temperature: Heat the water to a temperature of 75-80°C.
- Pull time:
- 1 minute: For a light and subtle infusion.
- 3 minutes: For a richer and spicier flavor experience.
- Multiple Infusions: Gunpowder tea can be infused multiple times. With each infusion, the spiciness will decrease and the tea will take on a softer character.
