Description
Chickweed, or Stellaria media, is one of those inconspicuous field herbs particularly prized in folk medicine for its cooling, soothing and purifying effects. Growing spontaneously in gardens and fields, it contains a wealth of nutrients such as vitamin C, iron, potassium and saponins. Traditionally, chickweed is used for skin irritations, digestive complaints and to support the urinary tract. It is a popular herb in spring cures, applied both internally and externally.
