Description
Ras El Hanout, also sometimes called Ras Al-Hanout, is a typical spice mixture from Northern Africa, Morocco and Tunisia and can actually be loosely translated as 'The best in the store'. Since 'the best in the store' can change from day to day, there is actually no real fixed composition of ingredients.
Use this spice mixture to season chicken, lamb or fish and to flavor couscous. It also gives a delicious North African touch to potatoes, ratatouille and various stews.
Ingredients: cubeb pepper*, anise*, cumin, cinnamon, turmeric, allspice, cayenne pepper, clove, cardamom, nutmeg, White pepper, galangal, rose buds.
